Tex TESOL II Spring Workshop -- Exploring ESOL Careers from Texas to Taiwan

There is a great event this Saturday (April 14th) I forgot to announce in class. I'm on the board of TexTESOL II (local affiliate of TESOL) and this should be a very informative event. I encourage you to attend. Hope to see you there!

Hi, Dr. Wright!

Is this primarily speakers with general information, or are there going to be recruiters there as well? I would love to go, and I am already committed to out of town plans. I have to decide if I need to drive in from out of town and drive back out of town the ame day!

Thanks for this information. I will look it up on their website.

Dear Dr. Wright,

Sorry to hear that the ESOL conference was not much, and even negative in some cases. BTW, Abraham Dominguez, who is working with EE on a tremendous outreach project, mentioned that Bilingual teaching jobs, along with Math and Engineering teaching, can bring up to $40,000 per annum.

He is a very passionate, enthusiastic, and was very convincing in encouraging some of the engineers to go into teaching.

Money is not everything, but salaries in this range are not bad for San Antonio.

Maybe it would be good for him to speak to our class about these opportunities???

Cheers,
Carol
